Project Spotlight: Restoring History in New Jersey

Restorcore Blog

This month’s project spotlight features a unique residential project at an 18th Century house in New Jersey. At RestoreCore, we pride ourselves on customer care and satisfaction no matter how large the job, whether commercial or residential. We knew this particular client had thousands of irreplaceable items in need of restoration, as well as a need for mold remediation in the NJ historic property.

RestoreCore was honored to take on the task of restoring the historic Watson House in Mercer County, NJ. The house, including its contents dating back to the early 18th Century, had been closed for several months and was now in need of mold remediation in the NJ property. The Isaac Watson House was built in 1708, and is recognized as the oldest house in Mercer County. It currently serves as the headquarters of the New Jersey State Society of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

RestoreCore lead on the project, Mack Carree, met with the client on day one and was able to assure them that these historic treasures were in great hands. Working closely with the house’s caretaker, Mack was noted as going above and beyond by taking a personal interest in the property and advising the client on how to maintain a mold-free environment.

“Under his keen direction, his team worked tirelessly to carefully treat each of the thousands of items in the house… nothing broken or missing!” the client noted. “He was genuinely concerned with ridding the house of the dreaded mold and restoring it to its original state.”

The Watson House project was estimated at a length of 10 days, though the total project spanned 14 due to the historic and special nature of the structure and its contents. The items contained within were rare and expensive, including a grandfather clock that was valued at over $15,000. Through experience and dedication, we were able to go above and beyond the client’s expectations.

“We put our faith and confidence in RestoreCore and were definitely not disappointed.  Watson House is once again a beautiful, historic treasure that is preserved for sharing with many generations to come. Partnering with RestoreCore was the one of the best decisions we made throughout this entire process.”
