Gary Williams joined RestoreCore in 2005 with years of damage restoration experience under his belt. A member of the Marine Corps Forces Reserve, Gary has a dedicated work ethic including a background in damage removal and management. Beginning his career in maintenance, Gary quickly moved into supervisory roles and eventually found his way into restoration and estimation. He joined RestoreCore nearly 12 years ago, as an estimator and project manager. He was then promoted to project coordinator and three years ago, took on the role of Assistant General Manager, while still retaining his estimating duties.
What’s the best part of working at RestoreCore?
The interaction I’ve had with Andrew Goldberg since day one. Because it’s a family owned company, I’ve been able to learn a lot from him through consistent interaction over the past 11 years.
What has been your greatest accomplishment during your time with the company?
I would say it’s been leading a team to come up with a training plan for our technicians. I crafted the concept and laid out what we would do. Then our team came up with the training ideas. I reviewed the training ideas, sat in on trainings, and created a training calendar. Leading and working together with the entire team was a great accomplishment.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself through working at RestoreCore?
One big thing was how to present your message. I’m a Marine and Marines are taught to express themselves in certain ways. One of the things that I learned was that sometimes your message can get lost in a presentation. If you want people to hear your message, you have to present your message in a way that holds their attention. Through my work at RestoreCore, I’ve learned to better present a message and communicate efficiently.
